FAU Sports Headlines
FOOTBALL HOLDS FULL CONTACT PRACTICE
Florida Atlantic University's football team returned to the practice field Saturday morning, in full pads for the second day, and was permitted full contact for the first time in 2013.
Special teams were first on the schedule and were more a part of the practice schedule than in recent days. Every unit continued to work on ball security. During 7-on-7 it was Christian Milstead who gained praise for breaking up a 60-yard pass that would have been a score.
The next team session saw a tightly cover DeAndre Richardson haul in a red zone pass for a score. The Owls defense also recorded multiple stops, during the red zone session, forcing field goals. Hakeeme Ishmar beat his man for a red zone score and quarterback Jaquez Johnson connected with Marcus Cunningham in the back of the end zone.
FAU will use Sunday for corrections and meetings and will return to the practice field Monday morning.
